Cancellation Policies
The full tuition amount is required at the time of registration. Payment can be made by credit card and gift certificate only.
Students who cancel within 24 hours of booking/payment may transfer their payment to a gift certificate, or receive a full refund (as long as the class is more than 3 days away at the time of booking).
Students who cancel more than 3 days (72 hours – keep in mind the time of your scheduled class!) before the class may transfer their payment to a gift certificate minus a $30 cancellation fee, or receive a 40% refund.
No refunds or gift certificates will be given for missed classes or classes cancelled less than 3 days (exactly 72 hrs) before the class- If you would like to switch your registration to a future class, payment in full is required again.
We maintain a strong commitment to our staff (comprised of local artists and art students) to pay them for their time, which is why we maintain this strict cancellation policy.
In the event of a cancellation by Diablo, students may transfer their deposit to a future class or receive a full refund. Diablo only cancels classes for low enrollment or in rare cases because of weather.
If you fall ill or cannot make your class, you may give your class slot to a family member or friend at any time, as long as they meet our age requirements (14+ for all classes except fused glass). You will have until the end of the business day (on the day you contact us to cancel) to let us know the name(s), phone number(s), and email address(es) of the student(s) taking your place. If we do not hear back from you, or you do not wish to give your spot(s) away to a friend or family member, your registration will automatically be canceled at 5pm on the day of your cancellation request.
Coronavirus Guidelines and Procedures
In accordance with the state of Massachusetts guidelines, classes will be conducted with new protective measures in place to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Click to read our new protocols.
Class Policies
If there is low enrollment in a class, Diablo will cancel the class and depending on the student’s preference, will either issue a refund or move the student into another class free of charge.
Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a class has been filled, anyone is welcome to put their name on the specific class’s waiting list and waiting list students are notified only in the case of a class opening. We sometimes release additional class spots on the same day for the waiting list of students, so don’t hesitate to put your name on the waiting list.
Minimum Age to Attend Classes
The minimum age to take classes is 14 with the exception of fused glass. Students as young as 6 may take fused glasses classes. Parental guidance is needed for children under the age of 10 if the student will be cutting glass in fused glass classes (students cut glass in all fused glass classes other than Scraptastic).
Pregnancy and Classes
Glassblowing and flameworking classes are prohibited for pregnant students. Feel free to inquire about flat shop (stained glass and fused glass) classes.
What to Bring
To work safely in the glass studio, you must wear closed-toed sneakers or shoes. Please do not wear open-toed sandals, flip flops, heels, or very short clothing.
Only cotton clothing is allowed (mostly cotton clothing is fine!) for glassblowing and flameworking classes. Remember, polyester melts and that’s no fun! Most people wear a tee shirt and pants, or a tee shirt and shorts if it’s hot out!
Wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in!
Bring bands to hold your hair back if it is long.
Bring a full water bottle. Gatorade is also recommended in the summer months to stay hydrated.
Diablo does not serve food. We have water bottles available for purchase for $1.
For all classes, we will provide you with safety goggles appropriate for the studio you will be working in. If you wear eyeglasses regularly, bring them!

Please email us at info@diabloglassschool.com to coordinate picking up your pieces. Please note that our office hours are limited, but we are always happy to put your pieces out on our Student Pickups table in the office. Pieces can be picked up from our Student Pickups table at times when office staff are not in the office, but teachers and renters will be in the building (usually weekday evenings and weekend days).
Include your name(s), date of the class, the teacher’s name and the number of pieces you are picking up, to make sure they are ready for you.
Please bring a box and packing materials for carrying your pieces.
Due to the heavy volume of classes, all pieces must be picked up within one month of the class.
We can mail your pieces to you for an extra charge of $25 for flame shop pieces and $35 for glassblowing and fused glass pieces (up to 2 pieces). $5 will be added for each additional piece. Shipping forms are available at the front desk specifying all the required information.
