Sarah Michalik

Sarah Michalik is a Massachusetts-born glass artist currently based in Quincy, MA. Sarah completed her MFA in Glass at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA in 2013. During her time at Tyler she studied abroad in Rome and also received a Teaching in Higher Education (T.H.E) Certificate. She was an adjunct professor at Tyler School of Art as well as a glass art instructor at the private high school, Crefeld.

As an undergraduate, Sarah attended the School of American Crafts, Rochester Institute of Technology in New York, receiving a BFA in Glass in 2008. While attending RIT she also studied glass at Alfred University, NY and abroad. She had the opportunity to study Scandinavian Glass Design at Denmark’s International Design School, Copenhagen, DK

Most recently Sarah was the 2014 Artist in Residence at The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology. During her time as an AIR she managed the hot glass studio while developing a body of work for her solo exhibition at the museum. Sarah was also a Jerry Raphael Metropolitan Contemporary Glass Group Fellow and a resident artist at Worcester Center for Crafts in Worcester, MA.

Currently Sarah continues to make sculptural glass art, teach, and run her e-commerce store, Luxe Glass Company, to sell handmade glass home décor and art.
