ONE SESSION WORKSHOPS

Flameworking Sampler (1 Day)
Course Fee: $75

Class size limit: 9
Invented in 14th century Murano, flameworking involves using a bench torch to heat and work glass. This sampler class is a great introduction to this time-honored art form, and is a great launching point for students who wish to learn more about flameworking. Create a unique and personalized pendant or marble that you can display proudly! In the process, learn to heat, shape, and add color to glass, and express your inner creative spirit.

Glass Pipe Sampler, One Hitter Chillums (1 Day)
Course Fee: $75

Class size limit: 9
In this introductory workshop students will learn how to heat borosilicate glass at a bench torch to create their very own chillum style glass pipe. Basic color application will also be introduced. No experience necessary.

TWO SESSION WORKSHOPS

Flameworked Marbles (2 Days)
Course Fee: $250

Class size limit: 8
In this class we will move from simple marbles to strategically placed elements to give the feel of outer-space, underwater , flowers and more. All are welcome, especially those who have taken some classes and want to improve their techniques for amazing results.

Flameworking 101: Borosilicate (2 Days)
Course Fee: $300

Class size limit: 9
This hands-on flameworking course covers the basics of creating glass objects in the flame of a stationary propane/oxygen torch and progresses into methods of decoration. After a discussion of studio set-up and safety, demonstrations will introduce students to the use of heat and gravity to shape molten glass. The class will alternate between demonstrations and plenty of work time. Students will practice Techniques for applying color and manipulating the form. No experience necessary. Return students are welcome and all materials are included.

Diablo offers open studios with special rental rates. Come in and rent time at a reduced rate!
